This large venue has weathered changing fashions and the fading popularity of hotel nightclubs by reinventing itself as one of Tallinn's regular live music venues. Situated in the basement of the landmark Viru hotel, Amigo can guarantee a regular stream of business from the thousands of guests who pass through the hotel each year. And with a strong line-up of Estonian bands, it also draws a reasonable local crowd.
Rock and blues acts are the focus - with such greats as Hot Rod, Ultima Thule and Bisquit Rollers on their list of artists. Depending on the band, the clientele can vary but tend to verge on the older, drunker and predominantly Finnish. You'll spot plenty of middle-aged groups occupying the large seating areas surrounding the dance-floor.
